Some love stories are written in the stars, and Meghann and Kyle’s feels like one of those destined to unfold no matter where life took them. They met in college, but if not there, life had countless other ways of bringing them together.

Their first meeting felt like a scene from a movie. Meghann was walking into the Gerdine Business School when she saw Kyle standing at the top of a long staircase. He was dressed in a sharp suit, suspenders, and a bowtie—Meghann's ultimate weakness. To her surprise, Kyle slid down the railing (yes, the entire staircase!) and landed right in front of her. They exchanged names, unaware that this serendipitous moment was just the beginning.

Later that evening, Meghann noticed Kyle at a business school social, showing off his skills at the ping pong table. Though she was shy, she couldn’t resist challenging him to a match. With shoes off and determination high, she gave it her all, but Kyle’s skills prevailed. Despite the loss, Meghann’s boldness made an impression.

Their first date soon followed, and it felt magical. Meghann felt completely at ease in Kyle’s presence—safe, calm, and yet adventurous all at once. It was clear there was something special between them. However, life had other plans. They dated on and off for a couple of years, but the timing wasn’t quite right. Meghann left school, Kyle stayed to finish, and their paths diverged.

Even during their time apart, they stayed loosely connected through social media. Meghann often smiled at Kyle’s positivity, and he remained a question mark in her mind. One day, a family friend asked Meghann why she was single and if there was anyone she found interesting. Kyle’s name came up. By then, he had moved to California, and Meghann was in Minnesota. She reached out to see if he might be open to reconnecting for a weekend hangout, knowing it'd be easy with her dad Steve's flight benefits. Kyle said yes!

Shortly after they made plans, Kyle faced the unexpected and tragic loss of his mom, Rhonda. Despite the heartbreak, he still wanted Meghann to visit, and so she did. It was a meaningful trip filled with deep conversations and shared values. From that moment, their connection deepened in a way neither had experienced before.

A few weeks later, Meghann spontaneously flew out to California for a Mac Miller concert with Kyle. That night, amidst the chaos of protests during the 2016 election, they found peace in each other’s presence. A stranger even approached them, saying, “You two are couple goals.”

Over the next few months, Meghann and Kyle grew closer. They made long-distance work with visits back and forth, and eventually, Meghann and her dog Lowkey moved to California to join Kyle. They shared a cozy one-bedroom apartment in Redwood City, followed by five wonderful years in Colorado, where they embraced mountain life and all its adventures.

It was on the beaches of Cabo that Kyle proposed, the ocean breeze as their witness! Shortly after, the couple embarked on a year of Airbnb-hopping along the coasts of the U.S., exploring new places and dreaming of the life they wanted to build together :) That journey led them to Northern San Diego County, California, where they found their home by the ocean and in the mountains.

Now, after nearly a decade of adventure, love, growth, and countless memories, Meghann and Kyle are ready to say, “I do.” Their journey has been extraordinary, and this next chapter promises to be just as magical.

So, in the spirit of adventure and intentionality, they chose to elope—creating a moment that is deeply personal, purposeful, and uniquely theirs.
